Why “Smile Warsaw”?
We wanted to be inclusive and distance ourselves from any religious affiliation. We serve a hot, tasty, vegetarian meal to the unfortunate, poor and homeless people of Warsaw City. It is often an Indian meal. We feed about 120 people.
When do we meet?
Every Sunday at 15:45 (we finish at 16:30/16:45)
Where do we meet?
Opposite Kinoteka cinema at the Palace of Culture and Science (the Aleja Jerozolimskie side). There is a car park usually used by coaches – you can’t miss us really, most of the volunteers will be wearing high visibility yellow vests labelled ‘Smile Warsaw’ (some have ‘NoHate’ on them). It is marked by the red “X” on the map below. We meet at 15:45 to introduce new volunteers (ask for Caleigh – she looks after new volunteers) and organize the food serving, erect tables and set up the clothes distribution. The location is exactly the same every Sunday.
